Wind Power Project Development

In recent years the established and utility wind farm industry has focused on larger scale projects (typically greater than 20MW), for reasons of efficient utilisation of internal resources and the need to meet legally binding renewable energy supply obligations.

Lomond Energy supports the need for a shift in pace of development to bring more renewable energy capacity on line as a matter of urgency. At the same time we recognise that smaller scale projects have just as important a part to play, not only in tackling climate change but also in bringing much needed economic development to rural communities and regeneration to former industrial areas.

By leveraging our specialist skills and long experience in wind power development, communities, farmers and other independent developers can now realise the potential of their project through our unique partnering arrangements, allowing more control, more ownership, and more returns than from the conventional developer/landowner relationship.

If you want to realise the renewable energy potential of your land and take an active part in its development, then contact us for an informal discussion to see how we can help you.

In Development

We are currently assessing the feasibility of a number of projects, with others at an early stage of preliminary environmental assessment and scoping. We also have two projects in the planning system awaiting determination, Muirhall Wind Farm in South Lanarkshire , and Tillyrie Wind Cluster in Kinross-shire, both in Scotland. Click the highlighted areas on the map below for information on the wind farm projects and location details.
