Wester Hassockrigg Wind Turbine

Wester Hassockrigg was developed in partnership with Lomond Energy and Temporis Wind and was the first planning consent gained under the partnership.

The wind turbine is located approximately 1 km south of Junction 5 of the M8 and became operational in September 2012, operating under the UK Government Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) scheme.

It has a maximum generating capacity of 500kW, equivalent to the annual electrical consumption of approximately 291 homes.

Lomond Energy managed the project from feasibility, through the screening stage and throughout the planning application stage to consent before handing over to Temporis Wind for the construction phase. During the planning application phase Lomond Energy successfully overcame a Glasgow Airport (formerly BAA) objection with the agreement of a radar blanking mitigation solution.
