Lomond Energy Limited has been shortlisted in the Scottish Green Energy Awards. The company, which was established 8 years ago, has been shortlisted in the Community Initiative category of the prestigious annual awards, with partners Allt Dearg Windfarmers LLP and Ardrishaig Community Trust, for their project in Argyll & Bute in which the community is taking a significant stake in the project.

Following over two years of environmental studies and 15 public consultation events, plans for Lomond Energy's Merkins Wind Farm near Bonhill have now been finalised.  Local communities could benefit from owning one of the turbines to bring much needed income to fund local projects as public spending cuts start to bite.
